Oyediji Bamitale
Field/Community Officer

Oyediji Bamitale Afolorunsho serves as Field/Community Officer and Fisheries Expert at Enatta Foundation, where she bridges the Foundation’s programs with the realities of riverine communities across Lagos. Her role is critical to the success of the Livelihood Empowerment Program, as she provides essential insights into community dynamics, verifies genuine beneficiaries, and ensures that interventions are culturally appropriate and operationally effective for the artisanal fisherwomen the Foundation serves.

As Field Officer, Bamitale facilitates trust-building between Enatta Foundation and fishing communities, drawing on her deep understanding of the sector to guide program implementation from boat distribution to cooperative formation. Her expertise in sustainable fisheries management and her established relationships within Lagos lagoon fishing communities enable the Foundation to deliver solutions that are both practical and transformative.

A dedicated Principal Fisheries Officer, Bamitale oversees the activities of over 500 fisherwomen, 800 fish processors, and 1,000 fishermen across Lagos lagoon fishing communities. Her work in empowering these groups through leadership and strategic development has earned her recognition, including the Best Senior Staff of the Year and Ideas Day awards for driving innovation and excellence in fisheries management.

Bamitale’s commitment to hard work and measurable results aligns perfectly with Enatta Foundation’s evidence-based approach to poverty alleviation. Her belief that success is achieved through deliberate action and community-centered solutions strengthens the Foundation’s capacity to create lasting impact in sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment.
